Computational Data Analytics Research

The Computational Data Analytics Research Group was founded in 2000 and now has 26 full-time staff members with about 50 student interns throughout a given year. We work on national scale problems in Science, Energy, Healthcare, and National Security to find insight and value in large sets of data (Big Data). We have broad collaborations across academia, government, industry, and military, and have several licensed technologies that are being commercialized.

Computational Data Analytics Research

We conduct innovative basic and applied computer science research on challenges of national interest. Our main research area is to make sense of very large sets of data, typically called "Big Data". Our research focus is in the areas of large-scale data analytics and architectures. This ranges from Machine Learning, Text Analytics, Graph Analytics, Visual Analytics to Map Reduce, noSQL Databases, Distributed computing, Cloud computing, and GPGPU computing. We have a broad range of data scientists that using our analytics tools and advanced architectures can quickly find value in very large data sets.
