Computational Sciences and Engineering Div., Oak Ridge National Laboratory R & D Associate, 12/2006 – present Project I: Peta-scale Streaming Data Mining and Visual Analytics · Investigated knowledge representation and visual analytics techniques at peta-scale. · Proposed and prototyped a novel density-based parallel data clustering/pattern recognition algorithm capable of handling data streams of Gbps. (Invention Disclosure Filed) · Proposed and prototyped three distributed and incremental multi-document summarization algorithms. (Invention Disclosure in Preparation) Project II: Cyber Security -- Data Integrity and Provenance for the Scientific Community · Proposed new cyber security architecture to assist early identification of “zero-day attacks. · Participated in drafting the “Scientific Approach to Cyber Security Research” document for DoE Office of Science. · Co-organized the 2nd DoE Cybersecurity Grassroots Community town hall meeting. Project III: Pervasive Computing Technology for Seamless Information Delivery · Designed and implemented a web service that allows mobile users to synchronize and share information. · Co-designed and implemented the Knowledge Acquisition Ubiquitous Agent Infrastructure (KAUAI), a Java-based mobile agent framework. · Co-designed and implemented a distributed target recognition application using KAUAI.
· Designed and implemented a multi-agent testbed using the Oak Ridge Mobile Agent Community (ORMAC) framework. The testbed is capable of instantiating and simulating interactions among 108 social atoms in tractable time. · Studied the effect of various social theories. The testbed reduces the time required to complete such simulations from months to hours. The outcome of the simulations provides insights and actionable intelligence to operation commanders.
